Our Philosophy

At Crayons Nursery, we believe that every child deserves a joyful start to learning. Our approach is built on the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which provides a supportive framework for children’s growth and development from birth to five years old.

We see early education as a whole experience where emotional, social, physical and cognitive growth all come together. Through a play-based and inquiry-led approach, we encourage children to explore, ask questions and learn by doing. Play is much more than fun, it’s how children make sense of the world, develop language, strengthen problem-solving skills and build meaningful relationships.

Our learning spaces and teaching practices are thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity and guide discovery. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we value children’s sense of agency, treat the environment as a “third teacher,” and celebrate creativity and self-expression through art, language and collaboration.

We believe in striking the right balance between adult-guided activities and child-initiated exploration. Our educators carefully observe, listen and adapt to each child’s unique interests and stage of development, ensuring that every learning moment is both engaging and purposeful.

At Crayons Nursery, our goal is to nurture confident, curious and resilient learners, children who love to discover, think independently and are ready for a lifetime of learning.
